INVITATION:
ED-MEDIA 2007--World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia &
Telecommunications is an international conference, sponsored by the
Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE). This
annual conference serves as a multi-disciplinary forum for the discussion
and exchange of information on the research, development, and applications
on all topics related to multimedia, hypermedia and
telecommunications/distance education.

ED-MEDIA, the premiere international conference in the field, spans all
disciplines and levels of education and attracts more than 1,500 attendees
from over 60 countries. We invite you to attend ED-MEDIA and submit
proposals for presentations.

This Final Call for Presentations is offered for those who were:
- unable to meet the first deadline for submissions in December, or
- were not ready to present a finished paper or project, or
- have a work-in-progress topic to present, and
- do not yet have a proposal accepted for presentation.

All presentation proposals are peer-reviewed and selected by three
reviewers on the respected Program Committee for inclusion in the
conference program, Proceedings (book and CD-ROM formats) and
EdITLib (Education and Information Technology Digital Library),

The registration fee of effective invited session organizers will be waived and they will receive at the registration desk, for free, a package of 4 DVDs and one CD containing the 6-hour tutorial "Fundamentals and History of Cybernetics: Development of the Theory of Complex Adaptive Systems". All Submitted papers will be reviewed by a double-blind (at least three reviewers), non-blind, and participative peer review. These three kinds of review will support the selection process of those that will be accepted for their presentation at the conference, as well as those to be selected for their publication in JSCI Journal. Authors of the best 10%-20% of the papers presented at the conference will be invited to adapt their papers for their publication in the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics.

Second Call for Papers - Virtual Reality in Distance Education

This second Call for Papers is for a theme issue of the International Journal of Social Sciences (IJSS) (http://www.enformatika.org/ijss/) entitled Virtual Reality in Distance Education. The projected publication date is October 2007 (Volume 1, N. 4). The Guest Editor is Gulsun Kurubacak, Ed.D. (gkurubac@anadolu.edu.tr)

International Journal of Social Sciences (IJSS) is a scholarly open access, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary, quarterly and fully refereed journal focusing on theories, methods and applications in social sciences. This open access, peer-reviewed journal encourages top-flight social science inquiry and research across all social science disciplines. It also recognizes contributions made by the social science research community to other disciplines, including biological and physical sciences, and promotes connections between all research communities. Welcome are submissions on Virtual Reality communications, pedagogies, technologies, and managements. The aim of this Special Issue is to add to the body of literature and encourage discussions and promote the exchange of ideas and information on Virtual Reality in Distance Education. Our intent is to stimulate critical debate and research, and add to the theoretical foundation used to underline Virtual Reality research, approaches, principles, and applications. Improvements in Virtual Reality have powerful impressions on digital society; therefore concentration will also be paid to communicational, educational, organizational, psychological and also sociological aspects. All submissions will be peer reviewed. Those submissions accepted for publication will be published in the International Journal of Social Sciences (IJSS).

This mini-track calls for papers that address ‘virtual communities’ at and for work, school, home and play. Virtual communities have become a significant factor of the information society and it is important to understand them better.
The range of subjects is diverse and interdisciplinary, and so are the methodologies, for example:

This minitrack is part of the Internet and the Digital Economy track.
HICSS conferences are devoted to advances in the information, computer, and system sciences, and encompass developments in both theory and practice. Invited papers may be theoretical, conceptual, tutorial or descriptive in nature. Submissions undergo a double-blind peer referee process and those selected for presentation will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
Submissions must not have been previously published.
